Book Review: Sweet Temptation By Lucy Diamond

Plot:

Maddie’s getting it from all sides. Her bitchy new boss at the radio station humiliates her live on air about her figure, her glamour-puss mum keeps dropping not-so-subtle hints that Maddie should lose weight and her kids are embarrassed to be seen with her after the disastrous Mums’ race at their school sports day. Something’s got to change…

Review:

What a fab read.

From mental trauma, grief, friendships, love, developing as a person and romance.

I really enjoyed getting to know each of the characters and how these strangers became each other’s life boats. The way they all got put together in this slimming group by chance and the friendship they gained from it.

It was so annoying when one of the characters Jess was diluting herself to think she was marrying this fudge of a ‘man’ because he did not treat her with any respect whatsoever. When she deserves it.
Maddie was inspiring! She works at the local radio station and her rude boss forces her live on radio that she was starting a diet when she never mentioned such thing. Anyway, the storyline with her ends well and as they say. Don’t be a two faced so and so because her boss eventually got the karma she deserved and Maddie gets her dream job as a result.

The last of the 3 ladies is Lauren. There wasn’t much too her as she didn’t have much personality or interests and she was quite blunt. She was so desperate for this fudge bag Joe to go out with her but even her own dating quiz (runs a dating agency) told her they were NOT compatible! But she found out for herself when she went out with him how self-absorbed he is. She is indeed quite lonely and lost as a person but she does open up a little bit but there wasn’t much information on her for me to think otherwise.

The novel tackles so many different topics which I really enjoyed. This was a feel good story with a subtle dash of romance.
